Population
According to the 1924 Turkish Commercial Almanac, the population of Uşak's city center was 15,000. The population of the district, including its subdistricts (nahiye) and approximately 150 villages (including Karahallı, Ulubey, and Banaz), was 70,000. Thus, in 1924, during the first year of the Republic, Uşak had a total population of 85,000.
In the 1926 Almanac of the Republic of Turkey, Uşak's population was recorded as 91,298. The first population census of the Republic Period was conducted on October 28, 1927. According to the results, the total population of Uşak District (kaza) was 88,463, with 40,965 males and 47,678 females. The city center's population was 16,887 at that time.
The population growth rate in Uşak has been lower than the national average. The growth rate of 68.10 per thousand between 1950 and 1955 can be attributed to Uşak becoming a province in 1953 and Eşme being transferred from Manisa to Uşak. In recent years, a decline in the population growth rate has been observed, parallel to the national trend.
